WATG16 has ended

Kelly Zaletel

My journey as an educator of gifted and talented students began at a gifted magnet school fresh out of college quite some time ago. At the time, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to further my education through master's level coursework in gifted education.

My first teaching opportunity held me accountable, under the umbrella of Special Education, for designing G.T. IEP's and structuring individual learning programs that provided curriculum compacting, acceleration and enrichment to my classes of fourth and fifth-grade G.T. students.

Before moving to Wisconsin, I served as a school-based gifted resource specialist directly responsible for the differentiation needs of over 100 3rd through 5th-grade students, as well as, coaching 5k through 2nd-grade teachers. Additionally, I have worked in the regular elementary classrooms as a teacher in 1st through 5th grade.

For the past nine years, I have worked with 4k-4 students in the G.T. program at the Kimberly Area School District as the Elementary G.T. Coordinator. Most recently, I completed my degree in Educational Leadership. I am passionate about gifted education both as an educator and as a parent, and am excited to be able to share my passion with you at WATG!
